President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that Hungary's prime minister is now "flirting" with Russia, but he will have to choose between Russia and the rest of the world.

Source: Zelenskyy, an interview to Ukrainian journalists, "Evropeyska Pravda" reports.

The president believes that after winning the parliamentary elections, Orbán will have to make a choice.

"In this situation, he will have to choose between Russia and the rest of the world. He may say that he chooses Hungary. But Hungary is a part of another world, they are in the European Union. We understand that this is a European state. He can continue to flirt, he needs cheap energy resources, etc. It will not last long," Zelenskyy said.

Zelenskyy also said that before the election he tried to build relations with Viktor Orbán and meet with him, but, according to the president, Orbán was "afraid".

"He was afraid, I am sure, although he could be offended and say that he was not afraid of anyone… He is afraid of the Russian Federation's influence on his country," Zelenskyy said, adding that he currently has no relations with the Hungarian leader.

The President also believes that the situation for Ukraine has not changed much after the elections in Hungary, as there was no ally for Ukraine in Budapest officialdom before.

Zelenskyy expects that Hungary will continue to block Ukraine's access to NATO, but he said this issue does not depend on Budapest. As for Ukraine's entering the EU, the president does not think that Orbán will block this process.

"I don't think he will do it. Because that would amount to open support of Russia," he said.
