Background: The world is prepared to evacuate the people of Mariupol from the Russian-bombarded city, but the Russian side has rejected all proposals for evacuation.
Mariupol has been under siege since 1 March. The Azov Regiment, a group of Marines, Border Guards, and National Guards have gathered at the Azovstal steelworks. Civilians from Mariupol are also hiding from Russian shelling and bombing in the plant’s bunkers.
