Kyiv region: Ukrainian military take control of Pripyat and section of border

Ukrainian airborne assault units have taken control of a section of the Ukrainian-Belarusian border near Pripyat in the Kyiv region.

Background:
- On 31 March, all the invading Russian troops left the "exclusion zone" at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant in Pripyat.
- Before withdrawing, Russian soldiers looted the premises of the Chornobyl nuclear power plant and a hotel nearby, even stealing electric kettles and forks.
On 2 April, Ukrainian troops, having regained control of the Chornobyl NPP, raised a Ukrainian flag outside the administrative premises of the plant.
