One Kharkiv resident was killed and five other residents of the oblast (region) and the city were injured in Russian shelling on 29 April.

Background:

On 28 April, Russians killed 5 and injured 11 civilians in Kharkiv Region.

On the morning of 29 April, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the aggressors had been focusing their efforts on holding their existing positions near the city of Kharkiv.

On the morning of 29 April, the Russian aggressors shelled Kharkiv using "Grad" and "Smerch" multiple rocket launchers.

In the afternoon of 29 April, it was reported that Ukrainian defenders had liberated Ruska Lozova village, north of Kharkiv. Russian troops used to carry out devastating artillery shelling of civilians from this location.

Near Izium, Ukrainian soldiers found the body of a 27-year-old ATO veteran [Anti-Terrorist Operation - Ukrainian military counter-offensive against pro-Russian forces in Donbas during 2014-18, now renamed Joint Forces Operation -ed.] who served as a military medic. Multiple signs of torture and degrading treatment were found on his body, including having been shot through the knees.
