In the Kherson region, currently occupied by the Russian Federation, pension payouts are made in rubles.
Source: Vladimir Saldo, self-appointed head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, quoted in Izvestia (a Kremlin-friendly publication)
Details: First, journalists reported that pensions began to be distributed in rubles in the Vinnytskyi (which does not exist) and Novotroitskyi (liquidated 2 years ago) districts. Since, Henicheskyi has been added to the list.
Saldo added that there are no plans for a referendum in the region.
According to Saldo: "The story about the preparations for the referendum was invented in Kiev as a provocation.
Right now the Kherson region is an area within Ukraine, which is under the control of the Russian Federation."
Previously: For days, in the captured city council of Kherson, Russian occupiers and collaborators held a meeting at which they appointed a so-called "chairman" of the Kherson Regional State Administration Volodymyr Saldo, and the "chairman" of the Kherson city administration Olexandr Kobets.
