Ukraine’s Regions: Strike on Kramatorsk, hopes of evacuating civilians from Azovstal plant

On the evening of 28 April the Russian army carried out missile strikes on Kyiv and Kyiv Region, as well as Khmelnytskyi Region. On the morning of 29 April, Russian troops shelled villages in Dnipropetrovsk Region. Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, and Kherson Regions continue to suffer from Russian shelling.

Details: Kharkiv Region: Russian troops continued deploying artillery and multiple rocket launchers to shell residential areas of Kharkiv on the night of 28-29 April. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties.

On 28 April Russian occupation forces continuously fired on Kharkiv District and the villages of Pokotylivka, Khroly, and Kotryari.

Luhansk Region: The situation remains tense. During the day, Sievierodonetsk, Lysychansk, Hirske, and Pryvillia were shelled. In each of these cities and towns there is damage to homes and farm buildings. No civilian casualties.

Donetsk Region: Shelling along the entire front line: Russian troops deploy Grad multiple rocket launchers, artillery, mortars, aircraft, and missiles. On the evening of Thursday, 28 April there was a missile strike on the outskirts of Kramatorsk.

No changes in Mariupol. On Friday, 29 April "an operation to evacuate civilians from the plant [Azovstal] is being planned."

Kherson Region: Explosions and shelling in the region. Russian troops are trying to take control of towns and villages, resorting to threats and abductions.

The situation in the region is difficult and tense.

The night was calm in Dnipropetrovsk Region, but on the morning of 29 April Russian troops opened fire on 2 villages on the border with Kherson region with Grad multiple rocket launchers. No casualties according to preliminary information. Detailed information and data on the consequences of the attack are being clarified.

Kyiv Region: On the evening of 28 April, during an air raid alarm, a missile strike was launched on infrastructure in Fastiv. 2 people were injured. The fire was contained and the effects of the attack are being neutralised.

In Kyiv, an apartment building was damaged by a missile attack on the city centre, 10 people were injured.

Khmelnytsky Region: On the evening of 28 April, during the air-raid alert, there was a missile strike on an infrastructure facility in one of the municipal territorial communities (hromadas) of Shepetivka District, Khmelnytskyi Region.

The effects of the attack are being eliminated. There are no casualties.

The night was relatively calm in Volyn, Zakarpattia, Rivne, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Lviv, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Vinnytsia, Ternopil, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Poltava, Sumy, and Chernihiv Regions.
