Quote: "Despite the obstacles posed by Kyiv and without the participation of the Ukrainian authorities, over 16,480 people have been evacuated from dangerous areas of Ukraine and the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics to the territory of the Russian Federation, including 3,354 children, over the past 24 hours. The total number [of people deported] since the beginning of the special military operation has reached 1,002,429 people, including 183n168 children."

Details: Mikhail Mizintsev also claims that over 2.75 million foreigners and Ukrainians requested to be evacuated to Russia, to the so-called "Donetsk People’s Republic" and "Luhansk People’s Republic," and to the Russian-controlled territories of Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv and Kherson regions of Ukraine.

"In total, the database contains 2,753,625 such appeals from 2,132 settlements in Ukraine," Mikhail Mizintsev said.

According to him, there are over 9,500 fully equipped temporary accommodation facilities in the Russian Federation.

Background: The Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly reported on the forced deportation of Ukrainians to Russia, including deportations of orphans, in particular those from Mariupol and Izium.

The Ukrainian Centre for Combating Disinformation at the National Security and Defence Council has provided guidance for Ukrainians who are forcibly deported to Russia or to territory not controlled by Ukrainian authorities.
