3,818 civilians have been killed and more than 4,000 injured in Ukraine as of 25 April, according to the prosecutor's office.

Source: Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine

Details: Venediktova said that the number available to the prosecutor's office is as incorrect as the one given in UN statistics, as it does not take into account the blockaded city of Mariupol and places in the Kyiv region where the prosecutor's office can’t yet go.

Quote: "Our numbers are also not entirely true. How do prosecutors work? We have, excuse me, we have to have a body that we identify as a civilian. Then we say that we have a civilian killed. So today, based on information provided by each regional prosecutor's office, we have 3,818 dead and more than 4,000 wounded civilians (data updated as of the morning of 25 April - IF).

Initially, based on criminal proceedings, we calculated that the number could have been lower. Now we are counting [numbers] provided by the Ministry of Health, by the numbers of bodies in morgues. We are collecting information on dead and injured children manually. Since we learned about the boy killed on 28 February with part of a shell in his chest, every morning and every night has begun with a report about children in the country. "
