Quote from Povoroznyk: "In all directions, all fortifications are being improved, we work almost daily to ensure that the capital is protected.
Additionally, we are working to restore public transport routes, restore all logistical supply chains of the city, so that life in the city is also comfortable."
Details: Povoroznyk stressed that the authorities are asking those who left the capital "for the time being to stay in safe places," since "the war is not over, and it is difficult to predict how events will unfold."
He also noted that the comfort of living in the city should not harm the defence capability.
Povoroznik noted the improvement of public transport in the city.
"Practically as in peacetime, the subway has started working, almost all electric transport has been deployed; we have opened many shops and facilities that provide for people living in the city. But, returning to the city, more and more people want to return to their usual work. We would be happy if businesses reopened, and not only those providing retail or service," he said.
Likewise, Head of the Kyiv Military Administration Mykola Zhyrnov notes that the city’s residents are arriving back in Kyiv. The main efforts of all services are aimed at ensuring the life of the city and repairing damages resulting from Russian air and missile strikes.
Rescuers are working on clearing away rubble and neutralising explosive objects. During the full-scale Russian aggression, units of the State Emergency Service discovered, seized, and destroyed 866 explosive items, including 2 aerial bombs, while examining and clearing an area of 14.25 hectares.
Measures are being taken to prepare for a defence of the city including the improvement of shelters for its residents. 815 shelters have already been connected to the Internet to ensure timely information reaches the population, as well as provide reliable communication.
Measures are being taken to unblock the streets of the city and improve transportation within the capital. Roadblocks continue to be optimised to relieve the city.
Public transport is returning to its normal operation. On the Red line of the metro, trains are running from Akademmistechko Station to Lisova Station. On the Blue – from the Heroes of the Dnipro Station to Teremky Station. Trains are running on the Green line between Syrets Station and Chervonyi Khutir Station. Interchange hubs Sports Palace – Leo Tolstoy Square and Golden Gate – Teatralna are operating. Without stopping, trains run through the stations: Maidan Nezalezhnosti, Klovska, Khreshchatyk, Dnipro, Hidropark.
Approximate traffic interval on all lines is 10-15 minutes. The metro is open for the transport of passengers from 06:30 to 20:00. In addition, underground metro stations operate around the clock as a shelter for the population.
Ground public transport in the capital (buses, trolleybuses, trams) runs from 7:00 to 21:00.
