US does not rule out Russia's use of nuclear weapons

The United States does not rule out the use of nuclear weapons by Russia, and is therefore sending a signal to Russian President Vladimir Putin that this step will have absolutely catastrophic consequences for him and for Russia.
This was stated in an interview with Evropeyska Pravda by the US Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland.
She said that Putin had already ordered [his soldiers] to commit horrific and brutal war crimes, so anything is possible and "it is important to be ready for Russia to use various types of weapons with catastrophic consequences".
"Right now, we - and not only the United States, but also other members of the transatlantic community - are urging Putin that this step will be a catastrophe not only for Ukraine and the world, but also for Putin and Russia", Nuland said.
She assured us that Ukraine would not be left alone in such a catastrophic scenario, as the use of such weapons would take the situation to a fundamentally new level.
"I can only assure you: even compared to the huge losses, the high price that the current aggression has for Russia - in this case, the price of Putin's actions will be just astronomical", Nuland said.
