Over 100 towns and villages in Kyiv Region still without power

112 towns and villages in Kyiv Region still have no electricity. On 21 April alone, local utility companies, however, were able to restore the powerlines in 27 settlements.

Since the work started, we have restored electricity [supply] in more than half of the Kyiv Region communities that had ended up without power because of the fighting."
Details: The official also mentioned that on 21 April, gas supply was restored in 11 settlements and partially renewed in Bucha, Vorzel, and Hostomel that had suffered serious damage from the Russian occupation. In Kotsyubynske, the gas supply is to be fully restored shortly.
18 settlements still have no access to gas, including 16 in Bucha District and 2 in Vyshgorod District.
As of 22 April, local utility services have restored gas supply in 101 settlements liberated from the Russian occupation.
Background:
- On 21 April, small public buses started to run between Kyiv and Irpin.
- On 19 April, Nova Poshta, the largest courier service in Ukraine, re-opened its offices in Bucha and Irpin that had been temporarily occupied by the Russian forces.
- Despite the first signs of renewal of the civil infrastructure on the territories freed from the Russian occupation, the local military administration warned that the demining of the region will take at least a year.
