In Kyiv Region, law enforcement officers have discovered the bodies of 1,084 civilians; up to 75 percent of them were murdered by firearms. More than 300 bodies of the victims have not yet been identified.
Source: Andrii Nabytov, head of the police of Kyiv Region, in a national news broadcast on 22 April
Quote: "I want to say that the number of bodies of victims is currently 1,084. The bodies have been examined by investigators and transported to forensic medical facilities. The victims are civilians who had no connection to territorial defence [forces] or to other military formations.
"The overwhelming majority - between 50 and 75 percent - of the victims were killed by firearms: machine guns, sniper rifles, submachine guns, depending on the settlement. At present, more than 300 bodies of the victims have not been identified."
Details: In this context, Nabytov urged Ukrainians not to wait, but to provide information about friends and relatives who have disappeared or who have not been in touch with them. When providing information, they should, in the first instance, use the special phone line 102.
Reminder: During the temporary occupation of several districts in Kyiv Region, the Russian occupiers perpetrated inhuman atrocities: they executed and intentionally shot to death civilians who offered no resistance and did not pose any threat.
