Verbatim: "In the Kherson region, the aggressors have intensified preparations for the referendum. The date they will pretend the people are expressing their will has been postponed to April 27. [Russian occupying forces], as always, ignore all laws and regulations in their attempt to speed up the legalisation of the occupying power."

"The fact that the referendum is scheduled for the middle of the week, on a working day, further emphasises that the will of the local population is not of any interest to the invaders, and the result is already known in the prepared scenario."

Background: On April 19, Russian occupation administration had been preparing to hold "pseudo-referendums" in the occupied areas of Kherson and Mykolayiv regions to declare them so-called "people's republics" and annex them to Russia.
