General Staff: Russian troops suffer losses in Kharkiv region and retreat to Russia

Nearly 130 Russian troops were hospitalised in the Novoaidar hospital after an attempted Russian assault on the cities of Rubizhne and Sievierodonetsk in the Luhansk region.

Russian troops are trying to continue the offensive in the Eastern Operational Zone in order to establish full control over the territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and carry out relentless rocket and bomb strikes.

There was no active action on the Volyn and Polissia fronts. There is still a threat of missile and bomb strikes on Ukraine’s infrastructure and other facilities from the territory of Belarus, using its airfield network and airspace.

Belarusian troops continue to cover the Ukrainian-Belarusian border in the Brest and Gomel regions and are fitting out their positions and observation posts.

On the Siverskyi front, there were no signs of Russian troops preparing to resume an offensive, but they are heavily guarding the area and taking measures to fit out their bases on the border with Ukraine.

On the Slobozhanskyi front, Russian troops are regrouping and replenishing their reserves. The partial blockade of Kharkiv continues, as does the shelling of the city.

On the Izium front, Russian troops tried to advance towards Sulyhivka and Dibrivnyi, and are trying to use Orlan-10 drones to conduct air reconnaissance.

On the Donetsk and Tavriia fronts, the Russian occupying forces continue to fire on the forward positions of Ukrainian troops and are looking for weaknesses in defence along the entire line of contact. Fighting continues in the areas of Kreminna, Torske and Zelena Dolyna. Russian troops are regrouping for a further offensive towards Lyman and are trying to advance into Popasna.

On the Donetsk front, Russian troops carried out an assault operation near Maryinka. Their main efforts are focused on capturing Mariupol and storming the Azovstal plant.

The aggressors are fighting in the area of ​​settlements Velyka Novosilka, Rivne and Storozhevo. Continues to provide logistical support to troops.

On the Pivdennyi Bug front, Russian troops are focused on maintaining their positions;  the positions of Ukrainian troops are occasionally shelled. Fighting continues near the town of Oleksandrivka.

The General Staff predicts that Russian troops will continue to fire on Ukrainian positions and engage in combat to reach the administrative borders of the Kherson region.

Due to heavy losses, Russian forces withdrew the battalion tactical group of the 237th Tank Regiment of the 3rd Motorised Rifle Division of the 20th All-Military Army of the Western Military District from the Kharkiv region to its place of permanent deployment (Soloti, Belgorod region) to restore combat capability.


In the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repulsed 10 Russian attacks, destroyed 12 tanks, 28 units of armoured and 2 units of automotive equipment, and 1 artillery system. The Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down 9 air targets: 1 plane, 1 helicopter, 6 UAVs of various makes and a cruise missile.
