Dmytro Zhyvytskyi, Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, said that a large number of troops have entered the region from Russia.

Details: According to Zhyvytskyi, the Russians "are very afraid of the locals and our troops," so they open fire chaotically on people near these vehicles or along the movement of the columns.

In Buryn on 1 April, Russian troops fired on the homes of civilians (one man received a gunshot wound and was hospitalised), as well as a car full of civilians (two people with gunshot wounds were hospitalised).

According to the Head of the Regional Military Administration, on 31 March a local resident who came under Russian fire in the village of Duboviazivkawas taken to the district hospital, and died on 1 April.

In the evening of 31 March in the Shostka district between Bilopillia and Putyvl, Russian troops detained a civilian car full of people, confiscated their phones, and promised to give them a place to spend the night. Connection with the detainees has since disappeared. As of 1 April, their whereabouts are unknown and their phones have been switched off.

In the Sumy area, Russian troops fired on the village of Basivka, damaging non-residential premises.

Also on 1 March, it became known that a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was taken prisoner by the Russian Federation. According to Zhyvytskyi, the man had not been in touch with his relatives for a long time, and on 1 March, his mother received a video on Viber that her son had been taken prisoner.

The Head of the oblast called on residents to listen to authorities' reports, reminding them that two days ago it was announced that there is an acute danger to civilian movement in the Konotop district and in the north of the Romny oblast.
