President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russian troops have been slowly withdrawing forces from the northern territories of Ukraine, leaving many dangers behind.

Quote: "The occupiers continue their retreat in the north of our country. [This process] is slow but noticeable. In some places they are being driven away with fighting. Elsewhere they are leaving their positions by themselves. They leave behind them a complete disaster and many dangers. This is the truth.

Firstly, the bombing may continue. Secondly, they are mining all this territory. They are planting mines in residential buildings, equipment, even the bodies of the dead. A lot of tripwires, a lot of other dangers…

We are making progress. We are advancing carefully. And everyone who returns to this area must also be very careful! It is not yet possible to return to normal life as it was - even in those areas we are returning after the fighting. We have to wait: wait for our land to be cleared of mines. Wait until we can assure you that no new shelling is possible."
