Serhiy Haidai, Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, has urged the region’s residents to evacuate as soon as possible in order to avoid falling victim or hostage to the Russian occupying forces.

According to Haidai: "There is no time to weigh up your options. Decisions have to be made quickly. Leave!
Save your lives, to avoid becoming cheap labour or being conscripted into the occupation army. The Russians kill those who do not agree right there and then. Evacuate…The buses are waiting!"
Details: Haidai emphasised that thousands of Kreminna residents did not manage to evacuate in time and are now being held hostage by the Russian troops.
The head of the Military Administration said that Russia deployed a lot of armoured equipment in its assault on Kreminna; fighting stretched over the course of several days. Ukrainian defence troops could not hold the city because "the enemy sent 40 units of armoured equipment to fight against each detachment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine" [each detachment comprises from 9-12 to 45-50 soldiers].
Haidai urged the residents of the Luhansk region to evacuate to safe regions of Ukraine where they will be assisted with finding accommodation and will receive financial aid from the Ukrainian government and international partners.
