Third day with no humanitarian corridors

The Ukrainian government was not able to reach an agreement with the Russian side on humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of civilians from dangerous parts of the country on Tuesday, 19 April.

According to Vereshchuk: "Today, on 19 April, we unfortunately have no humanitarian corridors.
Intense shelling continues in the Donbas region.
In Mariupol, Russians are refusing to create a corridor to allow civilians to leave for Berdiansk.
We continue difficult negotiations to open humanitarian corridors in the Kherson and Kharkiv regions."
Background: There were likewise no humanitarian corridors on 17 and 18 April; on 16 April, 9 evacuation routes were agreed upon.
