Police have completed all necessary investigative actions in Irpin to record the war crimes of the Russian Federation, and handed over for examination the bodies of 269 dead residents. A separate case involving the "Rich Town" residential complex is ready to be transferred to the International Criminal Court.

Panteleiev’s quote: "So far, we have examined 269 bodies of the dead residents of Irpin. They have been handed over for appropriate forensic examinations and the cause of death. After it they will be handed over to relatives for burial."

Seven places of firing squads of civilians by Russian soldiers have been inspected… 117 citizens who remained on the territory of Irpin at the time of the active phase of armed aggression have been identified and interrogated.

Details: According to him, the police also inspected residential neighbourhoods, private houses and shops where Russian soldiers were stationed, spent nights and looted.

In addition, according to Panteleiev, the police worked out one of the cases for the transfer of materials to the International Criminal Court (ICC) - the shelling of the "Rich Town" residential complex by Russian military personnel. 

Background: 

  • On 1 April, Bucha Mayor Anatolii Fedoruk reported that the city had been liberated from the Russian occupying forces.
  • On 2 April, Fedoruk said that a mass grave had been found in the city, where nearly 300 people were buried, with dozens of corpses lying in the streets, some with their hands tied.
