Russians complain on social media that their relatives “went missing” on the cruiser “Moskva”

"VKontakte" users report that their relatives, who were crew members of the cruiser "Moskva,"

 went missing after the flagship of the Russian Navy sank.

Details: In particular, Dmitry Shkrebets said that his son Yegor Shkrebets served in the cruiser. Yegor was added to the list of "missing people" after the ship was destroyed.

Another woman reported on social media that her son Mark Tarasov also went missing on the cruiser "Moskva."

Quote from Dmitry Skrebets: "My son was a conscript. The direct commanders of the cruiser ‘Moskva’ told me that he is not listed among the dead or injured, and he is listed as missing. Guys, he went missing on the open sea?!"

"The cruiser’s commander and his deputy stopped communicating after my attempts to clarify the details of the incident. I asked them directly: why are you officers alive and my son, a conscript, has died?"

Details: According to the aggressor's father, his son was called up for military service on 2 July 2021, and he served as a ship's cook on the cruiser "Moskva." 

The man called on users to spread his message, "so that the scum do not cover up this terrible tragedy," and said he intends to dedicate his life to "make the truth prevail in this story."

He also published photos of his son and probably his fellow sailors, taken, according to the signature, four days prior to his death.

Skrebets’ original post was removed, but he later re-posted the text with the comment "It will be removed again soon."

On 17 April, "Agenstvo" found another post about a soldier who went missing as a result of the sinking of the cruiser "Moskva".

This is a post by "VKontakte" user Ulyana Tarasova about her son Mark Tarasov, who "went missing on the cruiser ‘Moskva’."

Background:

In the evening of 13 April, it became known that Ukrainian anti-ship Neptune missiles hit the missile cruiser "Moskva" of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. After that, the cruiser, with 16 cruise missiles, was forced out of action and sank.

Experts analysed radar satellite imagery that shows the location of ships through clouds in the atmosphere. They determined the exact coordinates of the Moskva at the time it was hit by Ukrainian Neptune missiles.

Radio Liberty contacted a relative of one of the Russian sailors serving on board the "Moskva." She confirmed his death on the cruiser. The woman admitted to reporters that another 27 crew members "went missing."

Russian media published a "fresh" video of a meeting between Admiral Nikolai Yevmenov, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, and the Russian Black Sea Fleet Command with "the crew of the missile cruiser ‘Moskva’," which was hit by a Ukrainian missile and sank.

Naval expert H. I. Sutton made an estimate, based on satellite images and Russian official video, that around half of the crew of the Russian cruiser "Moskva" was killed or injured.
