Details: Khersonites are being told that Russia started the war to destroy the "Kyiv regime" and prevent the "collective West" from annihilating the Russian and Ukrainian peoples. The infamous "liberation of the Donbas" is not mentioned.
Russian occupation forces in Kherson are trying to convince the local population that the Russian Federation is committing war crimes in Ukraine for the greater good.
"The misfortunes that you have encountered are a result of the criminal policies of the Kyiv regime," state the leaflets.
Ukrainians are urged to collaborate with the Russian occupation forces and warned of the dangers associated with approaching Russian military personnel.
The leaflets also state that the "Russian army is not fighting with Ukrainian soldiers and is not shooting at civilians."
The Main Department for Intelligence notes that the satellite images provided by Planet Lab show that within the few weeks of the Russian occupation the local cemetery has been expanded with at least 824 new graves.
Background: Ukrainian and international investigation teams are looking into Russian war crimes committed on the territory of Ukraine.
