Ministry of Internal Affairs: Negotiations afoot about exchanging 169 National guardsmen

Negotiations are afoot regarding an exchange of 169 soldiers belonging to the National Guard of Ukraine who had been captured by Russian troops at the Chornobyl NPP.

According to Monastyrskyi: "Chornobyl has a tragic place in our history. Unfortunately, we have to report that 169 soldiers of the National Guard were taken prisoner there. According to our information, some of them are now being held in the Republic of Belarus and some in Russia.
We have visited the place where they were held. It is a lightless basement with no way to properly communicate. When they were there, all of their means of communication were taken away from them. And then they were taken away. Unfortunately I can’t say what their fate is. We are holding talks regarding their exchange. But we understand that this [prisoner exchange] will probably only take place after active hostilities are over."
