Details: According to the investigation, during 2021-2022, Russian citizens organised a scheme to illegally smuggle Russians across the state border of Ukraine to carry out sabotage activities against military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations of Ukraine.

These people rented housing in Kyiv, and recruited Ukrainian citizens who would open bank accounts in their name and transfer funds to them.

The Russians also provided them with spray cans, presumably for making markings to coordinate the Russian invasion. The recruited Ukrainians helped the now detained citizens of the Russian Federation to move through the territory of Ukraine.

In addition, the suspects passed information to Russia that could harm the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

When searching the detained Russians, the authorities found and confiscated the bank cards to which the funds were transferred as well as communication and information storage devices.

The court has arrested all three suspects.

As part of the investigation, law enforcement officers are establishing the involvement of these suspects in other crimes.

The offenders may face up to nine years in prison, no right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years and confiscation of property.
