Quote: "Finally, the buses evacuating people from Melitopol have left the city. Currently, a convoy of 6 buses, 3 trucks, and more than 300 cars is moving towards Zaporizhzhia.
We’ll be waiting for you and we hope your trip will be safe and easy."
Details: According to Fedorov, residents of Melitopol who sincerely love their hometown are being forced to leave because the Russian occupying forces have made the lives of civilians hell.
The mayor said that throughout the past few days, the Russians had been blocking the humanitarian corridor and would not let the evacuation buses leave Melitopol.
Fedorov thanked the courageous staff of the State Emergency Service who are helping the evacuation effort and delivering humanitarian aid.
He also assured other residents of Melitopol who wanted to evacuate, but were unable to do so on 1 April that the authorities were working on new humanitarian corridors.
