Air raid sirens sound: protracted shelling and explosions in Kharkiv

The sounds of volleys that lasted for over an hour this evening have been reported in Kharkiv. An air raid warning has been issued.

Details: Residents of Saltivka [a residential area located in northeastern Kharkiv] report shell bursts. A powerful explosion was heard in the city centre around 22:00.

Local Telegram channels citing Kharkiv residents report that explosions are heard in all districts of the city, as well in the outskirts.

People have been recommended to stay in shelters.

A source in the Ukrainian State Emergency Service confirmed the shelling of the Nikolsky shopping mall, and subsequent fire, to ‘Suspilne.’According to preliminary data, a rescue crew has not yet reached the mall due to the threat of shelling.
