The Russian online media Medusa, with reference to its sources, reports that many high-ranking officials and employees of Russian state corporations did not expect such harsh sanctions because of the war in Ukraine and consider quitting their jobs.

Quote: "About a quarter of high-ranking officials and employees of state corporations have considered quitting a job after the start of the war. Most of them are "business people familiar with best practices in management," Medusa's interlocutors close to the presidential and government administrations said.
Details: At the same time, there have been no high-profile dismissals since the beginning of the invasion. According to a source close to the government, "dismissal is now equal to fleeing, and they shoot for fleeing."
The media’s sources also note that many high-ranking officials and employees of state-owned companies were unaware of the plans for a full-scale attack on Ukraine and did not expect such harsh sanctions from the West.
Medusa's interlocutors said that those who have worked for the result are the most frustrated now, because they can no longer show any obvious achievements, even inside the country, and they also understand that "life will get worse and worse."
It is noted that now in Russia, almost all significant appointments or transfers are also stopped, although in early 2022, a "large package of reshuffles" has been planned, including ministerial posts.
