The rescue agency reported that the Russian occupying forces have been shelling residential buildings in the regions of Mykolaiv, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Luhansk leaving dozens of people killed.

Mykolaiv region: 

SESU units have put out 11 fires caused by shelling in the region. As a result of the shelling four civilians have died, with five survivors recovered from under the rubble.

Zhytomyr region:

On 8 March at 20:10 in Zhytomyr, as a result of an airstrike on military base A-2900, three military personnel were killed and three injured. At the same time, a three-storey dormitory  (80x24 m) was hit, killing one person and injuring two. 

On 8 March at 20:50 in the town of Malin in Zhytomyr region, 7 one-storey residential buildings on Vokzalna Street were destroyed as a result of an air strike, killing 5 people, including two children born in 2021. 

On 8 March, as a result of an air strike on the village of Bytytsya in the Sumy region, one person died and another was injured, while two residential buildings were partially destroyed. 

On 8 March an airstrike on the town of Okhtyrka destroyed 8 residential buildings and left 6 people injured. 

Kharkiv region:

SESU units responded to an airstrike on a private home in the village of Dinets. Four people were rescued. The bodies of two people were found at the site, including one child.

Luhansk region:

On 8 March 10 people died, 9 were injured and 49 residential buildings and 14 other structures were destroyed as a result of shelling of Severodonetsk and Rubizhne. SESU rescued 15 people. 213 SESU members responded alongside 43 equipment units.

Background: Rescuers have reported that currently the most difficult situation across the country is in the Buchanskyy district of Kyiv region. The situation in the district settlements is not under the control of the Ukrainian authorities, and the aggressor has created a humanitarian disaster.
