Kyiv is bracing for Russian attack

In the capital, territorial defence units are fortifying their positions at the northern, western and eastern entrances to the city.

Zhyrnov said: "For the enemy, the capital remains the number one target to capture. Our territorial defence in Kyiv continues to strengthen its position. The areas of Dymer-Kyiv, Kozelets-Brovary, Korostyshiv-Kyiv, Pyriatyn-Boryspil are important for our defence.
"We are setting up bases and barriers on all lines of defence. Every day, our armed forces receive even more weapons and combat equipment."
Details: According to the General, the main territorial defence efforts are focused on preparing for the siege and on repulsing the Russian invaders under any circumstances. Despite preparations for possible hostilities in the city, critical infrastructure companies continue to operate in the capital, and local authorities are monitoring the delivery of stocks to supermarkets, veterinary shops, and pharmacies.

- In the evening of March 7, the Ukrainian air defence system shot down missiles launched at the capital by Russian troops.
- The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine warned that the occupying forces of the Russian Federation were preparing to attack Kyiv and its environs from various sides.
