Shooting in Okhtyrka: one person killed, 14 wounded

A shooting in the town of Okhtyrka in the Sumy region on 7 March killed one person, 14 are wounded.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office: "According to the investigation, on 7 March 2022 from 22:43 and for almost two hours, servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation used military aircraft and missiles to fire on the civilian infrastructure of Okhtyrka, violating the customs of war.
As a result of the bombings and shellings, as of 13:00 on 8 March, one civilian has been killed and 14 others injured. However, the exact number of victims is still being clarified."
Details: In addition, the buildings of the city council, the cultural centre, the Univermag department store, several residential buildings, and the town’s railway station were damaged.
Under the procedural guidance of the Okhtyrka District Prosecutor’s Office, criminal proceedings have been instigated for violating the laws and customs of war (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
