The Ukrainian government will not accept any ultimatums from Russia - the negotiations must be on equal terms.

Quote: "Volodymyr Zelenskyy says that negotiations, especially when a country is at the table that clearly knows how to defend its interests, is a "two-way street". Proposal after proposal. And the proposals must be adequate."

Quote: "The Russian side, which misjudged its [Ukraine’s] potential, firstly made the wrong choice - to issue ultimatums. The harsher the ultimatums sound from them, the greater the resistance of the people.

Obviously, we will not accept any ultimatums, whatever they may be. Millions of Ukrainians are behind us."

Details: The Office of the President of Ukraine insists on equal and substantive negotiations with Russia.

Quote: "Ultimatums are not acceptable in negotiations. The sooner the Russian side agrees with this, the less damage will be suffered primarily by Russia itself as a result of this war."

Previously: President Zelenskyy has regularly called on the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, to hold direct talks. However, Putin has avoided them in every possible way.

Zelenskyy also said that Vladimir Putin was wrong to think that Ukrainians could be broken or forced to surrender, and he compared the desire to destroy Ukraine to an illness.
