Irpin and Bucha, two towns to the northwest of Kyiv, remain under siege by the Russian troops, without water, food, electricity – or opportunities to leave.
Source: General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Bucha residents
According to the General Staff: "The town of Irpin has remained without electricity, water, and heat for over three days; there have been no deliveries of food or drinking water; the occupiers have forbidden the local residents to leave their houses."
Details: The situation is similar in Bucha, which has been under fire from almost the very beginning of the war.
Civilians are just being killed right in their yards.
People are hiding in basements. There is hardly any communication with the people in Bucha as there is no power.
The government is trying to organise so-called ‘green corridors' from Bucha and neighbouring Hostomel, but evacuation remains impossible for now.
