Quote: "A cruise missile was shot down over the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital - as a result, a window was damaged and a door nearly blown off."

Details: Okhmatdyt reports that there are attempts to bring severely wounded children into the hospital, but these are unsuccessful due to heavy fighting.

Throughout the day on 5 March, there were three seriously injured children, none of whom could be brought to the hospital due to the threat of shelling.

Background:

On the evening of 4 March, the Ukrainian air defence system once again shot down a Russian cruise missile over the hospital, causing damage to the building. Due to the threat of shelling by the Russian troops, two seriously injured children could not be brought to the hospital by ambulances and died as the result.

The missile attack by the Russian occupying forces on 25 February killed one child in Okhmatdyt, and injured two other children and two adults.

Within the 11 days of full-scale war, Russian troops have killed 38 children, including an 18-month-old baby in Mariupol, and wounded 71 children.
