The humanitarian situation in the besieged city of Mariupol is catastrophic.
Source: Doctors Without Borders (MSF), Laurent Ligozat, MSF’s emergency coordinator in Ukraine.
Quote: "We know from our staff that they are desperately trying to stay safe as heavy attacks continue and food supplies run dangerously low. There is no water, electricity or heating. Internet and phone services have been cut off. Hospitals, supermarkets, and residential buildings have suffered heavy damages."
Details: According to Ligozat, people are literally being forced "to live off snow". It is impossible to deliver humanitarian aid to the city.
Ukraine is trying at the highest state level to organise a ‘green corridor’ for Mariupol.
