Ukrainian Kharkiv-based business oligarch Oleksandr Yaroslavskyi has initiated a fundraising campaign among Ukrainian and international business people to help rebuild Kharkiv.
He wrote about this on his Facebook page.
"Every day, Kharkiv residents show miraculous courage and selfless love for their city. I talked to many business friends from different countries. They are impressed by the heroism and do not just sympathise but are ready to provide financial assistance," the businessman wrote.
He claims that he and other businesspersons can raise $ 1 billion.
Quote: "According to my friends, I think we can raise as much as $ 1 billion for Kharkiv residents ... To rebuild everything that has been destroyed according to the highest international standards," Yaroslavskyi said.
An international support programme for Kharkiv will be launched under the auspices of Yaroslavkyi’s DCH Investment Management company. Its website will be up and running in the near future.

It received the following answer: "We have decided not to respond to enquiries from the media. Everything Oleksandr wants to share with the public is on his personal Facebook page."
