Poland "will never recognise territorial changes" caused by Russia's aggression in Ukraine, said Poland's Foreign Minister, Zbigniew Rau.
This was reported in Evropeyska Pravda (European Truth), referencing the website of the Polish Foreign Ministry.
"Poland will never recognise territorial changes caused by illegal, unprovoked aggression and the way Russia conducts hostilities based on the desire to break the will of the Ukrainian resistance through attacks that terrorise civilians. The shelling of residential areas, nuclear power plants… are war crimes according to international law and do not fall under the statute of limitations and will be prosecuted with the utmost determination," Rau said.
The statement was made after a meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken at Rzeszow.
In an interview with the press, Blinken and Rau reaffirmed their common approach to helping refugees and countering Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Rau reaffirmed his country's support for the people of Ukraine, adding the importance of an evacuation corridor "which will facilitate the evacuation of Ukrainian citizens".
In turn, Secretary Blinken reaffirmed his country's commitment to the people of Ukraine and thanked Poland for its work in accommodating numerous refugees from Ukraine.
"As allies and partners, Poland and the United States have stood together in many challenges. Now the great ideals that bind us together — freedom, democracy, peace, security — are under threat in this region as never before, at least since the Second World War. World War II," Blinken added.
