Ivan Fedorov, Mayor of Melitopol, has stated that the situation with food and medicine is difficult in the town, but despite this, the residents of Melitopol go to rallies against the Russian occupying forces every day.

According to Fedorov: "Every day, residents of Melitopol go to pro-Ukrainian rallies. This was probably the fourth rally. There will be another one today. There has been one incident at a rally when the Russian military fired on a protester. After that, I appealed to residents not to approach the military so that we can save the lives of civilian people.
Every day, more and more people gather who want to defend their rights to a life in a Ukrainian Melitopol. They go out and declare it; they shout different slogans, sing the anthem."
Details: According to the Mayor, people with yellow and blue flags walk the central streets of the town and return to the square because "they definitely do not want [to be part of] another country, they definitely do not want a regime in which peaceful protesters will be shot."
At the same time, Fedorov said that Melitopol now has a big problem with food– people are scared and do not know what tomorrow will bring. The [stocks of] medicines necessary for the emergency treatment of patients are coming to an end.
He also said that on 4 March, Russians posted a video on social networks, in which ostensibly a new mayor of Melitopol ostensibly addressed some residents of some city.
"It's ridiculous," Fedorov commented.
The mayor added that the biggest problem now is establishing a humanitarian corridor in Melitopol which people can leave by. Authorities appealed to various Russian servicemen, but they refused to establish a humanitarian corridor.
