Russian troops shelled the city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region with cluster rockets. This constitutes a war crime.
Source: Joint Forces Operation
Quote: "The enemy is ignoring all international rules– they are striking residential quarters and the civilian infrastructure of the Ukrainian city [of Pokrovsk].
Fortunately, several explosive cassettes that struck private homes of the city's residents never exploded."
"Strikes with cluster munitions strike very large areas, therefore their use in cities and villages is a war crime."
Details: As noted in the headquarters of the JFO, the Department of Emergency warns of the danger [of cluster rockets], as these explosive objects are composed of gel explosives. If they leave the cassette and are transferred to combat position they become active, and will explode within a 20 hours period.
They also react to temperature change, so these explosives cannot be moved.
