A member of Russia's Federation Council said that Russia is sending conscripted soldiers to fight in Ukraine, and that only four members of a 100-unit company survived.

Source: Senator Lyudmila Narusova of the Russian Federation Council, at a meeting of the Russian Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Building

Quote: "Yesterday, conscripts who were forced to sign a [military service] contract or who had one signed on their behalf were withdrawn from the combat zone in Ukraine.

"However, as a result, only four members of a company of 100 survived".

Details: Narusova said that she had sent a request to Russia's Defence Ministry to confirm this information, but her request was denied: "A defence department that refuses to say whether the [information] is accurate or not? How can that be?"

She was interrupted and told that all evidence was provided by an "investigation by the Russian Federation".
