Thirteen gas distribution stations operated by the Gas Transmission System (GTS) of Ukraine remain inoperable due to shelling by the Russian army, the GTS Operator of Ukraine reported on Telegram.
Dozens of Ukrainian towns and villages – hundreds of thousands of people – remain without gas: these include Irpin, Borodyanka, Hostomel, Stoyanka, Voznesensk, parts of Chernihiv, Izyum, Brazhivka, Syrotyno, Krasnopopivka, Donske, Novotroyitske, Prystan, Oleshky and many others that are located along the line of fire. The situation in the town of Schastya is critical. Gas supply to the town of Toretsk is on the verge of stopping; there, a bread factory and a boiler station are already disconnected from the gas supply due to the shelling of the gas distribution infrastructures.
Last night a missile damaged the household branch of the gas supply pipeline near the town of Siverodonetsk; the city has also been disconnected from the gas supply.
"Attacks on Ukraine’s critical infrastructures continue. The workers of the GTS operator of Ukraine continue to perform their duties heroically and take every opportunity to restore the gas supply wherever possible.
The main gas pipelines are still able to transport gas in a relatively stable way, given the circumstances," the GTS Operator’s post says.
