Poll shows, 82% Ukrainians believe their country will win, 63% trust Ukraine’s Armed Forces

In Ukraine, 82% of those polled believe in victory over Russia and almost two thirds trust Ukraine’s Armed Forces.
Another emotion widely shared by the Ukrainian population in the wake of Russia’s war on Ukraine is anger (62%).

According to those polled, the two factors that will contribute to Ukraine’s victory are: the strength of its Armed Forces (63% of respondents) and the unity and resistance of the Ukrainian society (61%).
The Armed Forces of Ukraine is the institution which the country’s population trusts the most. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is the second most trusted, and volunteer organisations are the third.
- As for the Ukrainians’ feelings, the most widely shred ones are:
- anger (62%)
- tension (38%)
- fear (35%)
- irritation or exasperation (26%)
- disappointment (17%)
Ukraine’s ability to fight off Russia’s invasion is a conviction shared by people across all regions of Ukraine.
According to the polled participants, the best outcome of negotiations would be peace on Ukraine’s terms, or at the very least the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory.
Only 1% of those polled would agree to peace on Russia’s terms.
The majority of Ukrainians blame Russia’s leadership for the war, and another 40% blame both the leadership and the political elites and the people of the occupying country.
The respondents believe that the consequences of the war for Russia will be isolation from the rest of the world (70%) and economic collapse (65%).
At the same time, 77% of people believe that Ukraine will emerge from the war stronger than before.
The polling was conducted on 28 February - 1 March 2022 using mobile app questionnaires. 2,144 people took part. Participants were residents of cities whose population exceeds 50,000 aged 18-60.
The sample is representative in terms of gender, age, the size of the city they live in, and region.
