Fire in Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant liquidated – emergency services

The fire at the training corps of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plan (NPP) in Energodar has been liquidated.

Background:

• Ядерна безпека на Запорізькій АЕС була порушена, The nuclear security in Zaporizhia NPP was violated, as the reactors were shelled by the Russian troops, and a fire started nearby.

• Fire brigades were unable to put down the fire due to ongoing fighting but later allowed to come through.

• President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appealed to the international community and stated and no one had ever fired at nuclear plants and that the Russians were threatening to blow up the station, which puts an entire world in danger of a global catastrophe

• Energodar has 6 energy blocks. In 1986, only one block exploded in Chernobyl NPP. In total, Ukraine has 15 nuclear energy blocks.
