Izium, a city in Ukraine’s east, has been under siege for 20 days – Russians are not letting people out

The Deputy Mayor of Izium (a city in Kharkiv Oblast [region], close to the border with Donetsk Oblast), Volodymyr Matsokin, reported that up to 20,000 residents of the city need to be evacuated, but the Russian occupying forces have been blocking the "green corridors" for almost 20 days.

Quote: "About 15,000-20,000 residents of the city require urgent evacuation from Izium. The "green corridors" are not being respected, and have not been working for almost 20 days. Thank God, and thanks to the efforts of the local authorities, today 2,500 people were evacuated. But this was from the Izium district only. There have been no evacuations from the city of Izium."
