Quote: "Should we expect even more" victims among diplomats?"
Details: Maasikas showed photos of symbols that were placed on the walls of diplomatic missions.
At the same time, he did not clarify which countries’ embassies or missions the labels were found on. Currently, the staff of most diplomatic missions in Kyiv have left the capital and evacuated to Lviv or abroad.
Background:
- On 27 February, Oleksiy Arestovych, adviser to the head of the President's Office, said that modern military equipment did not use such markers for adjusting fire.
- At the same time, law enforcement officers called on Ukrainians to be vigilant and destroy markers that could be used by the enemy to coordinate the invasion.
- The police even created a special bot to report the presence of such markers. ( бот )
- Kyiv city authorities say participation in placing markers can result in up to 15 years in prison. Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko personally asked the people of Kyiv to destroy enemy lighting markers.
