Ukraine's food industry associations and enterprises said that despite shortages of raw materials, shelling and strikes, and logistics violations, they are working to ensure that Ukrainians "have bread and all that goes with it" every day.

This was said in an open address published on the website of the State Consumer Service.

"For a week now, our country has been bravely defending itself, the country is fighting for every metre of our territory, for every town and every village, and we are winning! And we, the food producers of Ukraine, are fighting together with our soldiers, our defenders, sometimes on the edge of what is possible, but still supplying our people with food.

There is a shortage of raw materials, we have resource supply disruptions, energy shortages, labour shortages, rocket and bomb attacks, shelling, and logistics disruptions. Yet our employees go to work every day, our drivers deliver essential foodstuffs under shelling," the statement said.

Associations and businesses added that "mills, bakeries, dairy and meat processing plants and many other food production facilities are operating.

They urged all producers to keep in touch with the coordinators, "with the responsible deputy heads of the regional military administrations".

"We will do everything that is possible and impossible so that every one of you can have bread and produce every day! We will not stop.

We will endure and win. Russian war machine, you know where to go," the address reads.

A reminder:

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy together with the Ministry of Social Policy have developed a plan to provide foodstuffs to all those in need of help during the war.
