Quote: "Shares belonging to sanctioned persons who indirectly own shares in Alfa-Bank Ukraine will be transferred into the ownership of individuals and legal entities resident in Ukraine and agreed with the NBU. Negotiations are underway with large Polish and Ukrainian companies, as well as private investors."

They added that the majority owners of the bank remain large European and American funds and companies.

The day before, the European Union agreed on sanctions against Friedman and Aven. The EU sees the departure of the businessmen from the co-owners of the Ukrainian bank as an opportunity to avoid any reputational risk.
