EVROPEYSKA PRAVDA - THURSDAY, 3 MARCH 2022, 10:16 AM
Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Przydach said that Ukraine could receive the status of a candidate for EU membership "tomorrow, the day after tomorrow", if a political decision is made.
This was said in an interview with RMF FM, reports Evropeyska Pravda.
"Ukraine can become a candidate for the EU tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, next week. This is a matter of political decision making by the EU. This initiative is supported by 10 countries," said Pshydach.
He said he had no information that Berlin and Paris would agree to the status at this time, but said "we will convince them."
As a reminder, president Vladimir Zelensky signed the application for Ukraine's accession to the EU on 28 February in the wake of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
On 1 March, the European Union officially launched the procedure for considering Ukraine's application for membership.
