Russian aggressors have robbed the Kherson apartment of activist Kateryna Handziuk, who was killed in 2018.

Details: It is noted that the aggressors broke down the door "in the name of the Russian Federation".

The apartment  search lasted for over 3 hours. Witnesses said that several bags of belongings were taken out of the apartment.

Background:

  • On 31 July 2018, a man poured acid on activist Kateryna Handziuk near  the entrance hall of a residential building in Kherson. She was taken to the intensive care unit with severe burns, and she died in hospital on 4 November 2018 after several operations.
  • In June 2019, the court sentenced 5 perpetrators of the attack, who took a plea deal.
  • In March 2020, Oleksiy Moskalenko (Levin), who was suspected of organising the attack, was extradited to Ukraine. The court remanded him in custody.
  • In April 2020, Security Service of Ukraine investigation established that Vladyslav Manher, the former chairman of the Kherson Regional Council, had ordered the crime. He was taken into custody in June.
  • Irina Venediktova removed former prosecutor Viktor Trepak from the case of the attack on Handziuk once she became  Prosecutor General. Kateryna Handziuk's father called this a "disgrace."
