According to Synehubov: "In the morning a Russian helicopter carried out an attack on its own troops, killing a large number of military personnel and destroying equipment belonging to the occupation forces in Malaysia Rohan. These were the occupiers who had been relentlessly shelling the city of Kharkiv with artillery weapons and multiple rocket launchers.
We hope that this is not the last instance of ‘self-destruction’ by the Russian occupiers."
Background:
- On 24 March a Ukrainian air defence system shot down a Russian Su-34 fighter jet in the Kharkiv region.
- 6 people were killed and 15 injured as they queued for humanitarian aid in Kharkiv, when Russian troops shelled a nearby building.
- On the night of 23-24 March Russian troops launched missiles on the centre of Kharkiv from the Black Sea.
