Russia adjusts plans, transfers equipment to Belarus and Crimea to encircle Kyiv - General Staff report

Russians are adjusting their plans regarding the war in Ukraine: they are giving up offensive operations in some areas, and concentrating instead on the offensive on Kyiv, they are also keeping up their attack on Donbas in order to occupy Donetsk and Luhansk regions completely.

Source: information of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 12:00 on Thursday, March 24, 2022.

Details: The 29th day of the Russian military invasion is underway, with the Russian Federation experiencing significant losses, so it continues to "mobilise" and try to restore the combat capability of obsolete armoured vehicles.
Russians are recruiting reserve officers, conscripts and sergeants. The practice of recruiting mercenaries, recruited by Russian private military companies, persists.

In order to restore combat capability, the leadership of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation has made a number of decisions to remove obsolete armoured vehicles and send them to military units that restore combat capability.
In the territories temporarily occupied by Russia, there are frequent cases of seizure of trucks and special agricultural machinery from private entrepreneurs and farmers.

Quote: "According to the intelligence, the military-political leadership of the Russian Federation has decided to adjust their plans for further hostilities on the territory of Ukraine. This is due to the fact that the goals set before the war with Ukraine have not been met in time.

Over the past two weeks, more than 20 arms manufacturers in the Russian Federation have been forced to suspend their activities completely or in part due to lack of components. In particular, the production of aircraft missiles at the Russian research and production enterprise "Vimpel" was suspended.

At the same time, the Russian military leadership is transferring weapons and military equipment from military districts to the territory of Belarus and the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea. The goal is to make an attempt to prepare and implement offensive actions to encircle Kyiv city."

Details: According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian military leadership is beginning to realise that available forces and means are not sufficient to maintain a presence in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and conduct defence operations.

On the Volyn, Polissya, and Seversky fronts, Russia was forced to abandon offensive operations, regroup troops, and hold previously occupied frontiers. Russia is taking measures to mislead the Ukrainian Armed Forces units and continues to conduct reconnaissance.

Units of the Belarusian Armed Forces continue to be involved in covering certain sections of the Belarusian-Ukrainian border.

Aggressor’s units are trying to blockade Chernihiv and capture the city of Slavutych, but they have not achieved their goal.
On the Slobozhansky front, the Russians continue to blockade the city of Sumy. They have not made any moves towards Kharkiv. Their main efforts have focused on the destruction of the city's civilian infrastructure.

The Russian army was not successful in the Izyum direction. They suffered losses. They retreated to the southern part of the city.

On the Donetsk front, the Russian military continues to conduct offensive operations, with the ultimate goal to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

In the South Bug area, the Russian military is defending, taking measures to restore combat capability, replenishing ammunition and fuel to renew offensive operations.

Ukrainian Armed Forces Units struck at large landing ships in the port of Berdyansk. As a result, a fire broke out on a large Project 1171 landing ship, followed by the detonation of ammunition (Russian losses are being clarified).
