The Russian military advanced into the cities of Rubizhne and Popasna in Luhansk region and established themselves there, but did not occupy them completely.
Source: Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration Serhiy Gaidai on TV.
Direct speech: "Facts are facts ... Russian forces have managed to move a little on the Rubizhne front and have gained a foothold in the city, but they have not taken the entire city. They moved a short way into Popasna.
Well, it happens - it's a war… We do not see any great catastrophe here. Now there will be a regrouping and our people will kick them out of all the cities.
They (Russians – ed.) are in a panic – that’s why they are throwing bombs and rockets at us. They are also losing planes. They’ve got the message loud and clear that now they will be rejected from Kyiv and that we will get such huge reinforcements that we will drive them all the way to the Russian border"
Details: According to Gaidai, the big problem is that civilians still remain in these settlements. It is impossible to evacuate everyone; even a partial evacuation is very difficult, because the Russians are constantly shelling humanitarian corridors.
Updated: According to Gaidai, in Rubizhne, Russians have killed civilians. On March 23, the police received a report that the Russian military opened fire with small arms on local residents of Rubizhne.
